Floor Cleaning With Maxi Orbit.
Washing floors with a Maxi Orbit using a nylon brush is an excellent choice when you need to clean floors with a more abrasive tool or when dealing with tougher, more textured surfaces. Nylon brushes are typically gentler than some of the other brush types (such as steel), yet still effective at scrubbing dirt, grime, and stains without scratching the surface.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to wash floors using a Maxi Orbit with a nylon brush:
1.Prepare the Area and Equipment
Clear the Floor: Remove any furniture, rugs, or other obstacles from the area to make it easier to clean and maneuver the scrubber.
Check the Maxi Orbit: Ensure the machine is in good working order and that the nylon brush is securely attached to the machine. The nylon brush should fit properly and be free of any debris.
2. Mix the Cleaning Solution
Select the Appropriate Cleaner: Choose a floor cleaner suitable for your floor type (e.g., tile, vinyl, hardwood, concrete). For most floors, a neutral pH cleaner works best.
Dilute the Cleaner: Follow the cleaner’s instructions to dilute it with water in a bucket. Typically, the ratio is 1 part cleaner to 4-10 parts water (depending on the product). If your Maxi Orbit has a built-in solution tank, fill it with the diluted cleaner.
3.Attach the Nylon Brush
Install the Nylon Brush: Attach the nylon brush to the Maxi Orbit’s rotating head. Make sure it is properly fitted and securely in place to avoid any detachment during use.
Check Brush Condition: Ensure the nylon bristles are in good condition, with no signs of wear or damage that could reduce effectiveness.
4.Begin Cleaning the Floor
Start at a Corner: Begin cleaning from a corner or the farthest point in the room and work your way towards the exit to avoid stepping on freshly cleaned areas.
Move in Overlapping Passes: Slowly guide the machine in circular motions or back-and-forth strokes, overlapping your passes slightly for uniform coverage. The oscillating or rotating motion of the brush will break up dirt and grime from the floor surface.
Use Light Pressure: Allow the nylon brush to do the work. Avoid pushing down too hard on the scrubber, as this can cause unnecessary wear on the brush and the floor.
5.Focus on Stubborn Areas
Tough Spots: For areas with stubborn dirt, stains, or heavy traffic marks, slow down the machine and apply a bit more cleaning solution or water. The nylon brush will agitate the surface and help lift the stains.
Dwell Time: If an area is particularly dirty, let the brush work on it for a few seconds before moving on. The brush’s bristles should agitate the dirt, lifting it for removal.
6.Wipe Up Excess Water
Mop or Dry the Floor: Once you've scrubbed the entire area, use a clean mop, microfiber cloth, or towels to remove any excess water or cleaning solution. This step helps avoid streaks and water spots, particularly on shiny or glossy floors like tile or vinyl.
Use a Wet Vacuum (Optional): If your Maxi Orbit has a vacuum or squeegee feature to pick up water, use it to collect excess moisture from the floor.
By following these steps, you can effectively wash floors using a Maxi Orbit with a nylon brush, achieving a clean and well-maintained surface. The nylon brush is ideal for regular cleaning tasks, offering a balance between abrasiveness and gentleness for various types of floors.
